The 13-seat Toyota Hiace takes no other passengers. One person or 13 — the price is the same; we don’t sell individual seats or tickets. More than 13 people — we’ll find a partner minibus for your date; on short routes two runs in a row also work.
Driver, fuel and road included
Our regular driver with 20+ years of experience, fuel, toll sections and pickup in Almaty are all in the quoted price; you don’t pay extra per passenger. National park entrance fees, ski passes and a local off-road vehicle, if your route needs them, are not included.
Round trip
The round trip is one price. The driver waits for your group on site for as long as you said when booking; if you stay longer, you pay only for the extra hours.

Trips in the city and nearby are paid after the trip. Long intercity trips and trips of several days need a partial prepayment to hold the date, the rest before departure. Companies get an invoice, a contract and closing documents.

Country Village Resort is a family resort in the mountain part of Aksay Gorge, inside Ile-Alatau National Park. Log cabins, an outdoor pool, a Russian banya (steam bath), a hammam and spa, karaoke, horseback riding and a restaurant — big families come here for the weekend, and companies come for corporate parties or team building. The drive from Almaty is short, about 50 minutes, but the last stretch climbs up the gorge, and it’s easier when one driver takes the whole group rather than everyone getting there on their own.

The road from Almaty to Aksay Gorge: what to know
The route heads west from the city toward Aksay Gorge: along the upper Kaskelen road, then a turn past the Aksay River and a climb up the gorge to the resort. It’s about 35 km to the complex itself, roughly 50 minutes; the exact time depends on traffic leaving Almaty. The final stretch is narrow and uphill, so it’s nicer to ride it as a passenger than to drive an unfamiliar road yourself.
Country Village Resort is already inside Ile-Alatau National Park, away from the noise of the city. Tell us which building to take you to and for what time — the driver will bring the minibus to your door in Almaty, deliver you to the resort gates and agree whether to pick you up that evening or a couple of days later.
When to go and what to know about the seasons
Aksay Gorge welcomes visitors all year round, and the season changes the kind of getaway more than the road itself. In summer it’s the pool, barbecues and forest walks, so weekends get booked up early; September and October are the quietest and most beautiful months here; in winter people come for the banya and the snow, but the days are short, and it’s nicer to head back before dark. You book the cabins, banya and meals directly with the resort — it’s easiest to agree on the minibus pickup time once your check-in is confirmed. National park entry rules change from time to time, so it’s best to check the current conditions before you go. If you want a ski area right by your cabin, Oi-Qaragai, on the Beskainar side, is usually a better fit.
The road itself is straightforward: up to the turn off the upper Kaskelen road everything is smooth and fast, and after that begins a narrow, winding climb along the river. In summer the drive takes those same 50 minutes; in winter and in the rain, an hour or more: snow lies longer up top, and the climb can be icy. If you’re leaving on a Friday evening, allow another half hour to get out of the city — that’s the heaviest traffic of the week. In winter it’s also better not to plan the return trip for late at night, especially if you have children with you.
Why take a transfer instead of driving yourselves
Aksay is close, so it seems logical for everyone to take their own cars. But then several people spend the whole getaway as drivers, the mountain climb calls for care, and getting behind the wheel after the banya and a big meal is simply not an option. With one minibus none of that is an issue: the driver is sober and responsible for the road, and you’re on vacation from the first minute.
For a group of 8–13 people, booking a whole Hiace both ways usually costs less than a taxi for everyone, and it’s definitely more relaxed. It’s especially handy for a corporate outing: the team gathers in one vehicle while still in the city, talks on the way, and comes back together, without working out who’s riding home in which car.
What to bring to the resort
For a night in a log cabin, you’ll want a change of clothes, slippers and everything for the banya, and if you plan to cook, it’s easier to buy food and drinks in the city beforehand — there are almost no shops farther up the gorge. It’s also worth bringing your own swimwear for the pool, spa and hammam.
All of this fits easily in the minibus — a separate compartment takes the whole group’s bags, boxes and shopping bags, so nothing has to sit on anyone’s lap. If you’re traveling with children, let us know in advance about a child seat, and we’ll have it ready at pickup.
