Pet Transport from Almaty — Intercity Trips and Relocation

AlaGo provides pet transport from Almaty across Kazakhstan in a Toyota Hiace minibus with a driver. We carry dogs and cats in carriers and help you get to the vet clinic, the groomer, a show, a pet hotel or your dacha (country house). Behind the wheel is someone who remembers that there’s a living, often frightened passenger in the back. That’s why the driver drives smoothly, with no sudden maneuvers. We bring the vehicle right to your door at the agreed time and, if needed, help carry in and secure the carrier — you don’t have to haul a heavy crate to the road and flag down a ride.

When your pet needs a vehicle of its own

A separate vehicle for a pet isn’t only for moving house. The most common reason is a trip to the vet: a sick or elderly pet is hard to take in an ordinary taxi and almost impossible on public transport. A vehicle of your own also helps with planned visits: vaccinations, spaying or neutering, grooming or teeth cleaning. Shows and breed evaluations are a story of their own — the animal has to arrive on time and in good shape. Before a vacation, pets go to a pet hotel or a sitter, and during a move — to the new address along with all their cat and dog gear.

Dog transport — from small breeds to large ones

Dog transport by minibus makes sense where a regular taxi can no longer cope. The roomy Toyota Hiace cabin fits a large dog, several pets of one owner, or a whole kennel club heading to a competition. Small dogs ride in a carrier, large ones on a leash and, if needed, in a muzzle, securely restrained so the animal doesn’t move around the cabin on turns and when braking. This matters most for intercity dog transport, when the drive takes several hours.

Transporting cats and other pets

Cats handle the road worse than dogs: what matters most to them is quiet, minimal shaking and a familiar carrier. We strap the crate in with a belt, keep the cabin evenly cool and skip the loud music. A cat, a rabbit, a rodent or a bird will all ride calmly in a carrier. By arrangement, we also carry larger or unusual pets — tell us in advance who needs to go where, so we can prepare the cabin. If your pet is afraid of car rides, we’ll share a few simple tricks that help reduce stress on the road.

Intercity pet transport across Kazakhstan

AlaGo doesn’t only carry animals around the city. We go to the suburbs, to Konaev and the Kapchagay Reservoir, and between cities — to a show in another region, to a specialist vet, for a family move, or to reunite a pet with its owner. Pet transport across Kazakhstan in our own minibus is calmer and more predictable than changing vehicles and reloading: your pet stays in one vehicle the whole way, and the route and walk stops are planned around it. For long routes, we leave early in the morning to cover most of the way in daylight, and we plan breaks so the animal can rest, drink some water and stretch.

We carry animals all over Kazakhstan: to Astana, Karaganda, Shymkent, Taraz, Aktobe, Ust-Kamenogorsk and any other city. The route people ask about most is Almaty to Astana — about 1,200 km and a full day on the road. There are no shared “pet shuttles” between cities, and regular buses and trains accept animals reluctantly and with restrictions, so we run this trip as a separate vehicle booked just for you. We price it by the mileage in both directions: the Hiace drives back empty, but the fuel burns and the driver’s day passes just as on the way there.

Relocating permanently: pets, belongings and owners in one trip

A separate line of work is relocation to a new permanent home. When a family moves to another city or country, everything has to fit into one trip: pets, suitcases, boxes and the owners themselves. The Toyota Hiace can handle it: the animal rides in the cabin next to you, and belongings go in the luggage compartment and on free seats. Everything that usually has to be split between a plane, a train and a moving company travels together, in one vehicle; we agree on the volume of belongings when you book — with large suitcases, up to 9 people can travel. We move families to any city in Kazakhstan, relocating to Russia — Omsk, Novosibirsk and further by arrangement — and to Kyrgyzstan, for example to Bishkek. There’s one bill for everyone: it isn’t split between people, suitcases and carriers. At the border, your pet will need a veterinary passport with an up-to-date rabies vaccination; we’ll go through the full list of papers with you when you book a date. How we transport animals

Our rules are simple, and the driver follows them on every trip:

• the carrier is strapped in — it won’t slide across the floor when braking or tip over;
• the cabin temperature is even all year round: not stuffy in summer, no drafts in winter;
• after each trip the cabin is washed and aired out, with absorbent pads on the seats;
• calm driving, no jerks or overtaking, and on a long road — breaks so the animal can get out;
• animals that don’t know each other are kept in different corners where the cabin allows.

With the owner or unaccompanied

It’s easiest when the owner rides along: the minibus has room for both the pet and the whole family. But that isn’t always possible. By prior arrangement, we also transport animals unaccompanied — we agree on who hands the pet over and who meets it, exchange contacts and stay in touch the whole way. This works well when you need to take an animal to a pet sitter or pick it up from the airport.

Prices and how to book

A city booking is priced as hourly rental: from 10,000 ₸ per hour, three hours minimum, and the price doesn’t depend on how many pets are riding. Long distances work on a different principle — the rate is set per trip, not per passenger, and the return mileage is already included. A real example: a cat or dog from Almaty to Astana costs from 200,000 ₸, because the trip adds up to roughly 2,400 km and the driver spends two days on the road; owners and luggage add nothing to that price. Other cities in Kazakhstan are priced the same way — per trip with the return mileage — while Russia and Kyrgyzstan are priced separately, taking the border into account.
